Surgical Outreach for the Americas is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to performing surgical services, building relationships, and providing health education and sustainability to the underserved in developing countries of North, Central, and South America.
Our mission is to deliver essential surgical care, foster meaningful relationships, and promote health education and sustainable practices for underserved communities in North, Central, and South America. Through compassionate outreach, we aim to enhance health and well-being, bridging the gap in healthcare access and empowering individuals for a healthier future.
We perform hernia repair surgeries on adults and children at our surgical sites where access to care can be difficult, and these surgeries can directly affect the patient’s quality of life and ability to provide for their families and communities.
At several of our surgical sites, we extend our services to include basic gynecological procedures, ensuring comprehensive healthcare for women in these communities. We are committed to addressing the unique health needs of women by providing essential care and support.
We work alongside health care professionals at the surgical sites as well as give educational lectures in an effort to build relationships with the local community and promote ongoing health education with the goal of sustainability in the communities we have the opportunity to serve.

SOfA performs surgeries, primarily hernia repairs and gynecological procedures, in developing countries where access to health care for many patients is challenging. Performing these procedures can help patients in these countries to improve their overall health, return to normal activities, and often to resume meaningful employment to support their families and communities.
